KENNEWICK, Wash. – A group of riders from The Garden will host a “Ride for Freedom” motorcycle rally that will benefit Mirror Ministries in its fight against sex trafficking beginning at 8:45 a.m. at The Garden church at 6811 W. Okanogan Place in Kennewick - behind Best Buy.
Mirror Ministries advocate Murphy will speak at 8:45 a.m. at The Garden on the realities of sex trafficking in the region, which will be followed by the motorcycle ride drive to Heppner, Oregon.
Individuals are invited to join the rally with their own motorcycles for a suggested donation of $20 to support of Mirror Ministries. Participants may register for their spot in the rally the morning of the event at The Garden.
Mirror Ministries is a Tri-Cities non-profit and faith-based organization that is dedicated to providing support and resources for victims of sex trafficking, in addition to advocating about how to prevent sex trafficking from occurring in the Tri-Cities.
According to a NewEdge study, it is estimated that there are more than 200 underage girls trafficked in any given day in the Tri-Cities.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of The Garden Bikers and all who will participate in this upcoming motorcycle rally,” said Tricia MacFarlan, executive director of Mirror Ministries. “These funds will make a positive impact on the lives of those who are affected by this horrific act, which unfortunately happens every day in our Tri-Cities community.”
The rally is organized by Ron Vandinter and Neil Miller, who said they wanted to host an event that will not only raise funds for Mirror Ministries, but also raise awareness about the realities of sex trafficking in the mid-Columbia region.
